Vertical Marketing Manager – Wiley 6 views

The Vertical Marketing Manager leads the demand generation strategy and execution for their assigned industry target markets. This individual will partner with Account Executives, the wider Marketing team and Revenue Operations Teams to spearhead the strategic development of field marketing initiatives, as well as manage marketing projects. They will play a major role in executing and measuring results of B2B2C marketing campaigns. They will report on ROI to senior leaders and be responsible for optimizing campaigns to meet growth targets.

The Vertical Marketing Manager should have a successful track record of cultivating strong partnerships with Sales and helping them hit their quotas through custom and personalized field marketing strategies and tactics. They should thrive in a fast-paced, results oriented, and challenging environment and should be expert in multi-channel digital marketing campaigns. The successful candidate would have 5+ years of experience working in online media, digital, direct marketing and/or eCommerce environments with a focus on performance-based marketing, measurement and analytics.

This position is responsible for end-to-end execution of internal and external campaigns and events, and then communicating the business results to our key stakeholders in the organization. Liaising with external suppliers, agencies, and Brand Managers will also be critical for success in this role. The VMM will develop expertise and thought leadership within their specific vertical and will form a community of practice across verticals with the other VMMs.

Responsibilities

  • Partnership Development – Find opportunities within assigned verticals to position Partner Plus and EBP to new partners.
  • Marketing – Increase brand awareness locally and regionally to assigned verticals through targeted campaigns and other marketing initiatives. Deliver 2,000 leads per month per vertical
  • Project Management – Own end-to-end project management and execution of various events for assigned industries/territories, including all logistics, production, venue sourcing, budget tracking, marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and audience acquisition.
  • Reporting/Analytics – Complete routine campaign/event reviews and provide ROI analysis; pivot strategy to align with findings

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of B2B field/vertical marketing, sales enablement and/or sales experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; ability to multitask and effectively manage time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients
  • Experience handling substantial marketing budgets
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • Solid presentation skills and comfort in presenting in front of groups and clients
  • Proven negotiation, problem-solving, organization and project management skills
  • Experience with a marketing automation system, preferably HubSpot
  • Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
